Students who intend to study in Ireland for 90 days or less and who are from a visa-required country must apply for a Short Stay 'C' Study Visa before travelling to Ireland.

EU, EEA and Swiss nationals do not require an Irish visa to enter Ireland for study.
UK nationals can travel and reside in Ireland under the Common Travel Area (CTA) arrangements.

Coming to Study in Ireland – Immigration Service Delivery
Students must be able to demonstrate that they have sufficient funds to support themselves during their stay in Ireland, in accordance with the applicable immigration requirements.
For courses resulting in a stay of 6 to 8 months, the current financial requirement is €833 per month, up to a maximum of €6,665.
For courses resulting in residence of more than 8 months, students must demonstrate access to €10,000.
For visa-required students, evidence of financial support is assessed as part of the visa application process.
Non-visa-required students may be required to demonstrate access to the relevant funds when registering their immigration permission in Ireland.

Students studying on a full-time English language programme under Stamp 2 immigration permission are required to maintain a minimum attendance rate of 85%.
ISE records student attendance for each class and maintains attendance records in accordance with the applicable immigration requirements.
Students should be aware that attendance is an important condition of their immigration permission. Failure to meet the required attendance level may affect their ability to obtain further immigration permission.
English language students must provide evidence of having attended at least 85% of their previous course classes when applying for further student immigration permission.
Where applicable, ISE may be required to provide relevant attendance information to the Irish Immigration Service in accordance with the applicable requirements.

All registered English language Stamp 2 students are required to take a recognised external examination at the end of their programme.
Students will agree their end-of-programme examination at registration, and the relevant examination details will be recorded as part of their student documentation.
For General English students, the designated examination is the Trinity ISE examination.
Students enrolled in examination preparation programmes, such as Cambridge or IELTS, will follow the relevant examination arrangements for their programme.
Stamp 2 students must complete the required external examination.
At registration, students who require external examination verification for immigration purposes are required to acknowledge their responsibility to complete the required examination.
Students should enrol for their examination according to their level of English and the examination timetable available.
Examination dates and relevant information are communicated to students by the school.
The Director of Studies, Assistant Director of Studies and School Manager are responsible for ensuring student awareness, compliance, enrolment and the secure recording of examination results.

Students who wish to continue studying in Ireland after completing their current English language programme may be eligible to apply for further student immigration permission, subject to the applicable immigration requirements.
For English language students, further immigration permission is subject to meeting the relevant requirements, including:
Students continuing on English language programmes must progress to a higher-level programme in accordance with the applicable immigration requirements.
English language students may generally receive immigration permission for a maximum of three English language programmes, with permission of up to eight months for each programme, subject to meeting the applicable immigration requirements.
This represents a maximum of two years of immigration permission for English language study.
After completing the maximum period of English language study, students who wish to remain in Ireland as students must progress to an eligible higher education programme, subject to the applicable immigration requirements.
